We ensure you get the best possible diagnosis, treatment and aftercare by working collaboratively. That means we bring together leading consultant breast surgeons, experts in high-quality mammogram and ultrasound, breast Clinical Nurse Specialists and Breast Health physiotherapists to work as a team, with your best care in mind at all times.
Our consultant breast surgeons are hand-picked as the leaders in their field, many of whom also work at London teaching hospitals and are involved in the very latest clinical research:
Our multi-disciplinary team includes Breast Clinical Nurse Specialists, working collaboratively with consultants to ensure every patient receives a personalised, tailored treatment plan with one to one support before, during and after surgery. We hold regular Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) meetings to ensure the best course of treatment for our patients, aiming to achieve the best possible clinical outcomes.
The role of a Breast Nurse Specialist is crucial in a collaborative, multi-disciplinary approach to care. Amelia Cook (also Breast Unit Manager) and Helen Froyd provide patients with one to one specialist care, support and guidance at every step of their journey, including after they have returned home. Working closely with patients, their families, consultants, nurses and physiotherapists, Amelia and Helen ensure breast health patients receive the best possible attention, aiming to achieve the best clinical outcomes.
As part of the Breast Therapy Service offered here at King Edward VII’s Hospital, our breast Physiotherapist will aim to see you for a pre-operative session either face to face or via zoom. All breast surgery patients will be offered a follow-up appointment with our breast Physiotherapist around 2 weeks post-surgery to ensure you have the best healing experience.
The King Edward VII’s Hospital Breast Health Centre offers a dignified, caring and compassionate screening service with rapid access to assessment by one of our leading breast surgeons if required.
Every detail of the unit has been carefully planned to meet the physical and emotional needs of our patient, from the private and peaceful setting to the immediate availability of radiology reports. Our large ultrasound room offers ample space for patients to bring a friend or loved one in with them, but is partitioned for privacy while allowing them to hear what our specialists are saying.
