I have over 20 years’ experience with breast cancer and benign conditions assessment and treatment, in both the UK and overseas.
I provide a supportive, personalised approach, with up-to-date techniques and front-line equipment for breast cancer and related conditions – working with a team of top radiologists, oncologists, pathologists and supportive nursing and technical staffs to provide proficiency and excellence in breast care.
Dr Christina Choy is Breast Specialist Consultant Surgeon at King Edward VII@s Hospital. She is a very experienced Oncoplastic Breast Surgeon, specialising in breast cancer surgery with an oncoplastic approach and breast reconstruction. {{ label }}
She is very experienced in offering breast screening, family history cancer risk assessment and a wide range of benign breast conditions and diagnostic one stop breast assessment. She provides recent advanced technology, using wireless localization in breast cancer and lesion removal surgery with Magseed, Scurvi Scout and Localizer.
Dr Choy graduated with Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery degrees from the University of Sydney. She undertook her postgraduate speciality training across well-known centres in various countries such as Australia, Hong Kong and the UK, including St Bartholomew’s Hospital and the Royal Marsden Hospital, before taking on a consultant post as locum at St Bartholomew’s, King’s College and Newham General Hospital. She worked as a substantive consultant oncoplastic breast surgeon at Homerton University Hospital for over 14 years and in a multi-disciplinary team in the London Breast Institute over 10 years, with breast care nurses, pathologists, oncologists and radiologists.
Dr Choy has been involved in research regarding the genetic aspect of breast cancer by studying gene arrays and studying data of Afro-Caribbean young women with breast cancer. She also studies ethnic barriers affecting women’s access to early breast cancer diagnosis and aims to resolve barriers to allow easier access to medical care. She has published in peer-reviewed scientific journals.
Dr Choy is an Oncoplastic and Reconstructive Breast Surgeon fully registered with the General Medical Council in UK. She also holds medical board registrations in Hong Kong and Australia. She is also a member of the Association of Breast Surgeons and Breast Surgeons International. She is fluent in English and Chinese-Cantonese.
