Your health deserves time, attention and expert care. Our women’s health screening package gives you the clarity, reassurance and confidence to take control – all in a single, seamless visit tailored to you.
What’s included in your women’s health screening package?
Your private screening package is designed to give you a clear, detailed picture of your health. It includes key tests that support early detection of common conditions affecting women over 40, all carried out by experienced consultants and imaging specialists.
With same-day consultations and rapid results, you’ll receive trusted care in one visit – so you can live your life with confidence and peace of mind.
Your private health screening package in central London includes:
- Breast mammogram – detect early signs of breast cancer, often before symptoms appear
- Breast ultrasound – assess breast tissue and investigate any abnormalities
- Consultation with a gynaecologist – a private, in-depth review with a women’s health specialist to discuss any symptoms or concerns
- Transvaginal ultrasound – pelvic scan to assess the uterus, ovaries and other reproductive organs for common conditions
- Cervical screening (also known as a smear test) – detect abnormal cervical cells that could lead to cancer if left untreated
- Follow-up call with one of our clinical nurse specialists (CNS) – a personalised call to explain your results, offer guidance and answer any post-appointment questions
If you’d like to personalise your package, add extra tests or space appointments across more than one day, our team will tailor this package to suit your needs.
The benefits of a private women’s health screening
Screening is one of the most effective ways to stay in charge of your health. By detecting changes early – often before symptoms appear – screening can help prevent more serious issues from developing, offering you greater peace of mind and more options for treatment if needed.
Private women’s health screenings can provide:
- Early identification of common conditions
- A clear, personalised understanding of your current health
- Reassurance and guidance through timely, proactive care
- An opportunity to raise any concerns with a specialist
At King Edward VII’s Hospital, your screening is tailored to your needs. You’ll receive consultant-led care, fast results and dedicated support at every step. You don’t need a GP referral, either – simply get in touch to book your appointment.
What to expect at your health screening appointment
One of our clinical nurse specialists will be there to welcome you and guide you through your visit – they’ll be your dedicated point of contact from start to finish.
Your CNS will talk you through each step, answer any questions you may have and help ensure you feel comfortable and well-informed throughout. You’ll also receive their contact details in case you have any questions after your visit.
Your private screening lasts around three hours. It includes a full women’s health assessment and is divided into two parts – a breast health assessment and a gynaecological assessment.
We recommend arriving around 10 minutes early to help your visit run smoothly.
Breast health assessment
Your screening begins with a mammogram and breast ultrasound, carried out by our specialist imaging team. Your images will be reviewed straight away by a consultant radiologist, so you can expect clear answers on the day and reassurance if no further investigations are needed.
Gynaecological assessment
You’ll then meet with a consultant gynaecologist for a detailed pelvic assessment. This includes a transvaginal ultrasound and cervical screening, as well as the opportunity to raise any concerns or symptoms you’d like to discuss.
After your appointment: Getting your results
You’ll leave with the direct contact details of your CNS – so you always know who to turn to, even after your appointment. If you have any questions after your visit, you’re welcome to get in touch at any time.
Your cervical screening results will be shared by your CNS within three working days, during a follow-up phone call.
Your full health screening report will be sent to you within five working days of your appointment.
We’ll also discuss any further treatment options if any of your results suggest it’s needed.
