Mr Charles Evans appears on BBC Two’s Hospital series

On Tuesday 15th June Mr Charles Evans, Colorectal Surgeon at King Edward VII’s Hospital, appeared on the television series Hospital on BBC Two.
On the show Mr Evans performed minimally invasive bowel surgery using a Da Vinci Xi robot. The Da Vinci Xi robot allows surgeons to perform complex minimally invasive surgical procedures with precision and accuracy.
Commenting on his participation in the show, Mr Evans said: “It was fantastic to have the opportunity to demonstrate how performing colorectal surgery robotically offers real benefits to our patients in terms of their recovery and the precision of the procedures for good cancer outcomes.”
Mr Charles Evans
Mr Evans is a leading consultant general surgeon and one of a small number of UK surgeons specially trained in robotic surgical techniques. He specialises in robotic rectal cancer surgery and is an international trainer in robotic colorectal surgery training across Europe and the UK.
He has a wide practice covering hernia surgery, diagnostic and interventional endoscopy, bowel resection for cancerous and non-cancerous conditions, anal fissure and fistula, haemorrhoids, and appendix removal.
