We are pleased to introduce our latest screening package designed to check for signs of the most common conditions affecting the heart. We aim to give patients peace of mind and inform them if there are any further investigations or preventative measures needed.

We have combined three tests that can be carried out on the same day and the results sent directly to your GP or consultant for further discussion.

The King Edward VII's Hospital Diagnostic and Imaging Centre

The King Edward VII’s Hospital  Diagnostic and Imaging Centre uses the most up-to-date technology to provide quick and accurate results in a friendly and supportive atmosphere. Our equipment includes a Canon Aquilion One PRISM, with a 16cm wide detector made for cardiac scanning.

Our Imaging and Diagnostic Centre is able  to meet individual needs within a private and peaceful setting. We are also advanced in delivering exceptional radiology reporting both in quality and speed, leaving more time for you.

Our multi-disciplinary teams work efficiently to provide results within 24-48 hours, with more than 80% of reports being delivered within 24 hours of the examination being performed. King Edward VII’s Hospital uses the PACS system Biotronics 3D allowing referrers to access images and reporting a “live format” reducing wait times.

Can I self-refer for this Enhanced Heart Screening?

What tests does this Enhanced Heart Screening include?

Can I use my private health insurance?

The booking process is a little different. This Enhanced Heart Screening price has been created for self-funding patients only and is not applicable to patients with private medical insurance.

However, if you have private medical insurance, the costs of consultations, diagnostics and treatment should be covered. Check with your insurance provider that your condition and chosen consultant’s fees are covered as you may have to pay an excess or shortfall, and obtain pre-authorisation before booking. Your insurance provider will likely require a GP referral too.

Do all the tests happen on the same day?

Yes, this screening has been designed so all the tests happen on the same day at the same location. The CT Cardiac Coronary Artery Calcium Scoring  and CT Cardiac Angiogram Coronary actually happen a t the same time, while the US Arterial Doppler Carotids & Vertebrals test happens shortly after.
