Mr Dimitrious Mavrelos

Mr Dimitrios Mavrelos is a consultant obstetrician and gynaecologist at King Edward VII’s Hospital and accredited sub-specialist in Reproductive Medicine and Surgery.

He studied medicine at the University of Oxford and Guy’s, King’s and St Thomas’ School of Medicine. He completed his specialty and subspecialty training in London with international experts in gynaecological ultrasound, minimal access surgery to improve fertility and in vitro fertilisation.

He has extensive experience in treating surgically gynaecological conditions that impact fertility, including uterine fibroids, intrauterine adhesions, uterine septum and endometriosis.

Alongside his clinical work, Mr Mavrelos is an honorary Senior Lecturer at University College London and has published innovative scientific articles and book chapters on the diagnosis and management of endometriosis, the diagnosis and management of early pregnancy complications and the impact of gynaecological disorders on fertility. He lectures nationally and internationally on these subjects and continues leading an active research programme on improving outcomes of IVF cycles.
