Ms Naaila Aslam is a full-time Consultant Gynaecologist at University College London Hospitals. Her main area of expertise is early pregnancy and gynaecology ultrasound, and minimally invasive surgery. {{ label }}
She regularly manages a wide range of benign gynaecological conditions including menstrual disorders, pelvic pain, endometriosis, ovarian cysts and fibroids. She performs laparoscopic and hysteroscopic surgery. In addition, she performs out-patient surgical procedures such as hysteroscopy and treatment of miscarriages.
Having graduated from the University of Leeds with a distinction in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in 1994, she underwent her postgraduate training in London and Bristol. During this time she completed a two year research fellowship in early pregnancy and gynaecology ultrasound with Mr Davor Jurkovic at King’s College Hospital, London. In addition, she completed a one year clinical fellowship at University College London Hospitals in advanced minimal access surgery. She was subsequently appointed as a Consultant Gynaecologist at UCLH in 2006. More recently she was appointed Clinical Lead for Gynaecology at UCLH between 2008 and 2010.
She was awarded an MD degree from the University of London for her research work on the role of gynaecology ultrasound in the assessment of ovarian tumours. She has published and presented her work on early pregnancy and gynaecology ultrasound both nationally and internationally.
