Dr Simcock is a consultant physician and honorary senior lecturer at St Bartholomew's hospital and sees over 200 patients each month with general respiratory problems (such as cough, breathlessness, pneumonia, asthma, COPD, lung cancer) and has a specialist expertise in sleep disorders such as obstructive sleep apnoea and is the lead clinician for bronchoscopy and endobronchial ultrasound (EBUS) for the rapid diagnosis and staging of lung cancer. Dr Simcock is an elected member of the British Thoracic Society Specialist Advisory Group for sleep disorders.
Dr Simcock has presented his original research work worldwide and been the recipient of several national and international awards. His work is published in leading respiratory journals. Dr Simcock is involved in the selection and training of medical undergraduates and doctors in training. He is an invited reviewer of manuscripts for journal publication and book chapters. Dr Simcock is a Royal College of Physicians examiner.
