Mr Simon Hislop is a Consultant Hip and Knee Surgeon at King Edward VII's Hospital. His high volume specialist practice encompasses primary and revision hip and knee replacement surgery, arthroscopic knee surgery, and lower limb trauma. {{ label }}
He has a reputation as a thorough, meticulous, and skilled surgeon who always puts patients first, providing tailored treatment plans for a high quality patient journey.
Mr Hislop read medicine at Imperial College in London and then completed basic surgical training in central and West London. His specialist registrar training was on the Stanmore rotation. He completed an MSc by research in Musculoskeletal Science at Oxford University, working with Professor Andy Carr at the Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre. He is double fellowship trained, having spent a year at the Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre in Oxford doing hip and knee arthroplasty. He then undertook a fellowship in pelvic and acetabular surgery and major trauma, with hip and knee arthoplasty at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre, Toronto. Mr Hislop has a full rowing Blue from Oxford University.
Mr Hislop has published throughout his career, with a particular focus on periprosthetic infection, and hip surgery. He is a tutor for medical students at Imperial College School of Medicine. Simon is a Training Programme Director for the surgical SHO training programme at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital.
