Professional Biography

Mr. David Hewin is a Consultant Upper GI and Bariatric Surgeon working exclusively with Upper Gastrointestinal surgery cases. His specialist interests are in Bariatric (weight loss) surgery and Bariatric Endoscopy including gastric balloon, gastric band, gastric sleeve and gastric bypass.

Mr Hewin’s extensive experience also includes advanced laparoscopic (keyhole) surgery. As part of his commitment to continuously improving patient care he is the first surgeon in Ireland to perform ESG (Endoscopic Sleeve Gastroplasty) a revolutionary weight loss technique which avoids skin scars and enables rapid return to normal activities.

His enthusiasm for the advancement of surgery and his constructive approach with his patients to support their weight loss journey has resulted in many positive patient weight loss outcomes.
