My Practice

Mr. Alun Yewlett is an experienced consultant surgeon with extensive expertise ranging from cellular and biological regenerative treatments to revision arthroplasty. He takes the time to understand each patient’s expectations and needs, tailoring a bespoke treatment plan for every individual. Trained by some of the world’s leading upper limb surgeons, he has mastered complex surgical techniques and advanced regenerative non-operative methods, many of which are not widely available within the National Health Service.

Professional Biography

Mr Alun Yewlett is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at King Edward VII’s Hospital, specialising in both surgical and regenerative treatments of shoulder, elbow and hand conditions and sports injuries. He provides a “one” stop shoulder ultrasound diagnostic service and is a high volume shoulder and elbow arthroplasty surgeon.

He uses published evidence to inform his decision making process and will only suggest a surgical solution when there is no better non-surgical or biological alternative and will tailor his treatment to the needs and expectations of the individual.

He is an advocate of “wide-awake” surgery and performs most cases under regional anaesthetic where possible avoiding the risks of general anaesthesia.

He has been awarded the national certificate of excellence from the iwantgreatcare website for two years in succession in recognition of his outstanding and consistently excellent feedback from patients and been awarded clinical excellence awards for his NHS practice.

He sits on the national ODEP committee for shoulder and elbow arthroplasty and has won several national awards from the British Elbow and Shoulder Society.

He is internationally recognised for his expertise with the “mi-eye” device for office based diagnostic arthroscopies and injectable therapies and the Alliance insurance company were the first to recognise him for their corporate clients in recognition of his experience.
