Mr. Patel empowers patients throughout their care journey by running a comprehensive ‘one-stop’ service, where he can clinically assess the issue, perform an ultrasound scan, and administer injections for the shoulder or hand, delivering effective pain relief in a single visit.
Mr. Vishal Patel is a highly experienced, triple-fellowship trained orthopaedic surgeon at King Edward VII’s Hospital, with a specialist focus on shoulder, elbow, and upper limb surgery. {{ label }}
In addition to his surgical expertise, Mr. Patel is one of the select few surgeons who are Members of the Faculty of Sports and Exercise Medicine UK, enabling him to effectively manage sports-related injuries with both surgical and non-operative treatments.
Uniquely, he is skilled in providing ultrasound-guided injections, offering his patients a precise, minimally invasive treatment option.
Mr. Patel completed his medical degree at University College London (UCL) and pursued advanced orthopaedic training in the East Midlands (UK). He has honed his expertise at four of London’s prestigious tertiary hospitals and travelled internationally, including to Japan, to further specialise in arthroscopic “keyhole” surgery, shoulder and elbow procedures, shoulder replacements, and complex upper limb fracture surgeries.
In addition to his expertise in shoulder and elbow surgery, Mr. Patel is fellowship-trained in hand surgery, having worked at the renowned Chelsea & Westminster Hand Unit. He is actively involved in medical education, regularly teaching Oxford University medical students, physiotherapists, and training future consultants in shoulder and elbow surgery at a national level.
Mr. Patel’s philosophy centres on accurate, specialist assessments and a team-based approach to rehabilitation. He believes that, when managed early, the majority of upper limb conditions can be resolved without the need for surgery, allowing patients to achieve a full recovery.
Mr. Patel was awarded “NHS Local clinical excellence” for service provided during pandemic.
