Mr Joshua Lee is a fellowship-trained Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon specialising in hip and knee surgery at King Edward VII’s Hospital. He provides comprehensive treatment of hip and knee conditions, from sports injuries to joint replacement. He is an expert in treating complex knee ligament injuries (ACL, PCL and multi-ligament) and hip impingement. He also has expertise in joint preservation, treating cartilage and meniscal injuries, including meniscal transplant. He is trained in the latest keyhole and minimally invasive tissue sparing techniques, to offer his patients the best possible outcomes and recovery.

Mr Lee completed his Orthopaedic Training on the North West Thames rotation in West London. Prior to this, he spent a year in research based at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital in Stanmore, investigating the long-term wear properties of total knee replacements. He completed sub-specialist training in Hip and Knee surgery on the prestigious Adult Reconstruction Fellowship at The Ottawa Hospital in Canada. Working with the world-renowned surgeon, Dr Paul Beaulé, he developed an interest in the hip joint preservation surgery and tissue sparing hip joint replacement surgery. Additionally, he gained fellowship training in Major Trauma at St Mary’s Hospital in London. He was appointed as Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon to Barts Health NHS Trust in 2011, based at The Royal London Hospital, one of the busiest Trauma Centres in Europe. In this time he has served as Clinical Lead for the Orthopaedic Department for 3 years.
He has led the delivery of NIHR trials and has been Co-Investigator for Health, a multi national, multi-centre, hip fracture trial. He has also been involved in first in human trials and post market research. He also has a keen interest in education and training, having set up and run the Orthopaedics Simulation Centre at Barts Health.
