Mr Guy Webster is a well-respected Consultant Urological Surgeon with a special interest in stones and infections of the urinary tract, urological cancer and de-obstruction surgery, using both open and minimally invasive surgical techniques and in day case scrotal surgery.
He was awarded his Medical Degree from Birmingham University Medical School, where he remained for a year as an anatomy lecturer. Following this he completed his surgical training in Leeds and the West Midlands. He received the Edinburgh RCS John Steyne and the BAUS Ethicon prize, and spent a year as a Fellow and Lecturer in Brisbane Australia gaining invaluable additional experience in endoscopic and cancer surgery.
He was appointed as Consultant at the age of 34. He introduced laparoscopic procedures to the Trust following training in Paris and Denmark and then in 2011 renal robotic procedures after training in Paris and London. He is actively involved in medical education, mentoring other Urologists in pioneering procedures in conjunction with the British Association of Urological Surgeons. Throughout his career, he has published book chapters and papers in peer-reviewed journals and is a reviewer for Urology Journals , he is the Lead for Cancer and a Royal College Advisor.
In his spare time Mr Webster enjoys time with his family and supporting his 3 children in their sporting pursuits. He is a keen follower of cricket and rugby and plays golf and tennis. Other interests – history and film. He has completed private pilot (single engine) and sailing (day skipper) training.
Mr Webster speaks basic German and French.
