Professional Biography

Mr George Mochloulis is a Consultant ENT/Head & Neck/Thyroid Surgeon at East North Hertfordshire NHS Trust and the Associate Medical Director of Cancer Services for East & North Herts Teaching NHS Trust. He leads a high‑volume general ENT service, running weekly multidisciplinary Head & Neck clinics as well as specialist clinics for neck lumps and thyroid assessments. He is responsible for the Head & Neck Services across East and North Hertfordshire.

Trained in London, Mr Mochloulis was appointed as a Consultant Surgeon at East & North Herts NHS Trust in 2000. His specialist interests include neck lumps, thyroid and parathyroid surgery, general ENT, head and neck cancers, and salivary gland surgery.

He is the UK lead in continuous intraoperative nerve monitoring during thyroid surgery and regularly trains surgeons from both the UK and abroad in this technique. He has also developed a Head & Neck/Thyroid Robotic Surgical Service at East & North Herts Teaching NHS Trust and was the first Consultant in the UK to establish a remote‑access robotic thyroidectomy service. Under his leadership, the Trust has also introduced a Thermal Ablation (RFA, microwave) service for the treatment of benign thyroid lesions.
