Professional Biography

Mr Edward Westcott is a consultant general and colorectal surgeon at King Edward VII’s Hospital, specialising in colorectal cancer and inflammatory bowel disease. He practised in the NHS at Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust between 2012 and 2021 and now exclusively sees private patients.

Mr Westcott was first appointed as a consultant in 2012. His main areas of expertise are inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), colorectal cancer, hidradenitis suppurative of the groin and perineum, anal fistula, and hernia surgery. He is skilled in both laparoscopic and open surgery.

Originally from Worcestershire, Mr Westcott qualified in medicine at St Mary’s Hospital Medical School in London before completing his surgical training at five of the city’s leading teaching hospitals. He later undertook research on the pathogenesis of Crohn’s disease at St Mark’s Hospital and was awarded an MD.
