Ms Natalie Watson is a Laryngology Consultant at Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust with a passion for laryngology, teaching, singing, voice overs and podcasts (host of BLA Connections – A Clear Voice).
She has a Masters in Clinical Education, for which she was awarded a distinction from King’s College London. Ms Watson qualified with two distinctions from Guys, Kings and St Thomas Medical School and was awarded the prestigious Jelf medal. She obtained an intercalated Honours BSc in Neuroscience having received the Health Foundation Student Research Fellowship. Ms Watson has also completed a Royal College of Surgeons of England post-CCT laryngology fellowship at Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust.
Ms Watson runs a performer’s voice clinic, general voice clinic, dysphagia and paediatric to adult services in her laryngology clinic.
Her research interests include all aspects of laryngology and aerosol physiology. Miss Watson also has active roles in the British Laryngological Association and the European Laryngology Society.
Ms Watson started the PERFORM working group along with Mr Declan Costello, investigating respirable particles emitted during singing, woodwind and brass instruments, exercise, speech and language therapy exercises and inputting this data into computational fluid dynamic modelling. This project is funded by an EPSRC Grant, sponsored by Public Health England and results directly communicated to the Department of Digital, Culture, Media and Sport. Natalie was also awarded the British Voice Association Van Lawrence award for her contribution.

Ms Watson is a regular faculty member of the London Phonosurgery courses teaching consultants on the phono surgery, transnasal oesophagoscopy and CO2 and blue laser laryngeal airway course.
Ms Watson lectures on “in-office” procedures, including botulinum toxin, blue laser and injection medialisation in the larynx, which is a large part of my practice.
