Highly experienced in cancer psychological care, with 15+ years of specialist expertise as a senior clinical psychologist in cancer. Currently Head of Department at a London hospital.
Alex is a consultant clinical psychologist specialising in cancer and surgery. Alex obtained his BSc (1st class) at the University of Kent in 1997, MSc in Psychoanalytic Developmental Psychology in 1998 and DClinPsy Doctorate in Clinical Psychology at University College, London in 2003.
Career highlights include the 2017 BMJ Awards for Surgery and Patient Partnership with the PREPARE prehabilitation team, and the 2018 Anthony Nolan Clinical Supporter Award for work on the post-transplant care pathway.
Alex supports a number of third-sector cancer support organisations, including Life After Cancer, Kidney Cancer UK, Anthony Nolan, Pancreatic Cancer UK, The Swallows, and Macmillan Cancer Support, with patient and professional education and policy development.
