Radiography Department Assistant

As a Radiography Department Assistant, you’ll play a vital role in helping us deliver outstanding patient care and an efficient Imaging service. Working alongside Radiographers, Radiologists and the wider multidisciplinary team, you’ll support the smooth day-to-day running of the department and ensure every patient feels welcomed, supported and cared for throughout their imaging journey.
From preparing imaging rooms and assisting with patient flow, to supporting examinations and maintaining a clean, well-stocked environment, your work will directly contribute to positive patient experiences and safe, high-quality diagnostics. Key Responsibilities
- Provide timely, courteous support to the Imaging Department, ensuring patients’ clinical, physical and cultural needs are always met
- Prepare imaging rooms and assist Radiographers and Radiologists during examinations and procedures
- Support patient flow by safely transferring patients and assisting with changing and personal care when required
- Deliver a welcoming, compassionate service to patients and visitors, responding to enquiries professionally
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness, infection control, stock management and equipment reporting
- Communicate effectively with the wider hospital team and use imaging IT systems to support a smooth, efficient service
Key Skills / Qualifications:
- Experience working within an Imaging Department and/or a private healthcare setting would be beneficial, though not essential, as full training will be provided
- A friendly, patient-centred approach with a genuine commitment to delivering high-quality customer service
- Basic IT literacy and enthusiasm to learn departmental systems, including RIS and PACS
- Clear understanding of the importance of confidentiality, dignity and respect in a healthcare setting
- Flexible and adaptable, with the ability to respond to the changing needs of the service
