As our Outpatient Lead Physiotherapist, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping and delivering an exceptional physiotherapy service for our patients. Using your advanced clinical expertise, you’ll lead the assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation of patients with complex and specialist needs, ensuring safe, evidence-based, and person-centred care at every stage of their journey.
You’ll work as an autonomous practitioner and expert resource within the multidisciplinary team, influencing clinical decision-making, service development, and quality improvement. Through leadership, teaching, and mentorship, you’ll support the development of the wider therapy team while helping to deliver outstanding outcomes, experiences, and standards of care across outpatient services.
Key Responsibilities
Provide clinical leadership for outpatient physiotherapy services, delivering expert assessment and treatment for complex cases while driving high standards of care, service development, and team performance.
- Lead and develop high-quality outpatient and hydrotherapy services, ensuring safe and effective patient care
- Deliver advanced clinical assessment and treatment for patients with complex and specialist needs
- Work closely with the multidisciplinary team and external partners to coordinate optimal patient pathways
- Support service improvement through audit, staff development, and strong clinical governance
Key Skills / Qualifications:
- HCPC registration as a Physiotherapist (essential)
- Significant post-qualification experience within outpatient physiotherapy, including MSK and orthopaedics
- Advanced clinical expertise with the ability to work autonomously and manage complex cases
- Strong leadership, organisational, and time-management skills
- Proven ability to teach, supervise, and mentor junior staff and students
- Commitment to evidence-based practice and continuous professional development
