How you’ll help us make health happen
As an Imaging Department Secretary at King Edward VII’s Hospital, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring our patients receive a smooth, efficient and compassionate experience from the moment they arrive. You’ll be the first point of contact for patients, visitors and clinical teams—helping coordinate appointments, manage key information, and support the daily running of a busy Imaging Department.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide front-of-house support by welcoming patients, handling enquiries, and managing check-ins with accuracy and care.
- Manage imaging appointment bookings, phone queries, and data entry across hospital systems (RIS/PACS/HIS).
- Maintain clear communication with consultants, GPs, ward teams and other departments to support smooth patient flow.
- Ensure patients are fully informed about procedures, paperwork, delays, and any changes to their appointments.
- Prepare daily schedules, notify radiologists of upcoming examinations, and support the department’s operational organisation.
- Maintain records, filing systems, and office supplies while ensuring confidentiality and data accuracy.
- Assist with chaperoning and safe patient transfers when required.
- Contribute to continuous service improvement and uphold a positive, professional working environment.
Key Skills / Qualifications
- Strong secretarial/administrative experience, ideally within healthcare.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and customer-service skills.
- High level of organisation, accuracy and attention to detail.
- Confident using Microsoft Office
- Ability to multitask, prioritise and work effectively under pressure.
- Positive, professional attitude with the ability to work independently and within a team.
- Flexible, adaptable, and willing to learn new IT systems and processes.
- Knowledge of medical terminology with imaging background (desirable)
