A special delivery for King Edward VII’s Hospital
Over the past couple of weekends King Edward VII’s Hospital has accepted some rather exciting deliveries.
On 17th July our new 3T MRI scanner was lowered by crane into its new home and this past weekend our brand new CT scanner and X-Ray were wheeled into the building. A delicate process, these deliveries were installed smoothly thanks to some excellent planning and team work from our partners and on site team.
These new additions bring us one step closer to opening Kantor Medical Centre, our new outpatient and diagnostic facility due to open its doors later this year.

Pain Management Programme Scientific Paper
Recently our Centre for Veterans’ Health published a scientific paper ‘Military veterans with and without post-traumatic stress disorder: results from a chronic pain management programme’.
In this paper the team explore the methods and learnings from establishing the first interdisciplinary pain management specifically for veterans. Veterans with chronic pain and PTSD are often passed from one service to another without adequate treatment leading to heightened morbidity, and the development of the Pain Management Programme (PMP) was developed to bring disciplines together to create an integrated approach. In this paper the PMP team assess the clinical and statistical improvements of veteran’s health after participating in the programme, including those with and without PTSD.

Royal Parks Half Marathon
We are proud to inform you we have a team of wonderful staff running on behalf of the Hospital for our Centre for Veterans’ Health, specifically raising funds for our Veteran’s Pain Management Programme and Grants
Yiannis Alexiou, Natasha Anderson, Barney Baxendale, Jean Salmorin and Rebecca Sumner are running 12.6 miles around London on Sunday 10th October. The route is well-known for its beauty, taking in some of the capital’s world-famous landmarks on closed roads, and four of London’s eight Royal Parks – Hyde Park, The Green Park, St James’s Park and Kensington Gardens.
Rigorous training is already underway (despite some interesting weather conditions) and we’ll all be cheering the team on in October. Donations go towards supporting the Armed Forces Community access life changing healthcare at King Edward VII’s Hospital and all donations are gratefully received
If you’d be interested in joining the team for the Royal Parks Half Marathon in October we still have two places remaining. Please email Olivia Simson for more information.
