It’s Endometriosis Awareness Month, and we’d like to highlight the brilliant work our team do at our Endometriosis Centre, let you know about two free endometriosis webinars we have coming up, and showcase some personal stories from endometriosis sufferers on our Health Hub.
Specialist team help women with severe endometriosis
Our Endometriosis Centre is one of the only private endometriosis centres in the UK accredited by the BSGE. Our expert specialists treat women with severe or complex endometriosis.
Mr Alfred Cutner
Internationally renowned gynaecologist Mr Cutner leads the Endometriosis Centre’s multidisciplinary team. He has a wealth of experience in laparoscopic surgery.
He has also lectured and demonstrated surgical techniques nationally and across the globe.
He says: “We have an outstanding team of recognised experts who deliver patient-centred care within a state-of-the-art operating theatre. For many years, our team has worked together for the safe treatment of women with advanced endometriosis, involving the bowel and urinary tract.”
Mr Arvind Vashisht
Mr Vashisht is a gynaecologist with expertise in complex surgery for benign disease.
He is the current Chair of the Endometriosis Centres at the British Society for Gynaecological Endoscopy (BSGE).
Mr Alastair Windsor
Leading colorectal surgeon Mr Windsor has treated complex endometriosis for over 20 years.
He works closely with Mr Cutner to perform joint laparoscopic procedures for complex cases.
Mr Daron Smith
Mr Smith is an expert endourologist specialising in the support of women with severe endometriosis.
Mr Smith has extensive experience of ureteric surgery.
Mr Jeremy Ockrim
Mr Ockrim is Honorary Lecturer at UCL and Consultant Urological Surgeon in Female Reconstructive Surgery at UCLH.
He collaborates with Mr Smith on ureteric and stent management, to preserve renal function and reduce the need for reconstruction.
Professor Andrew Baranowski
Professor Baranowski is a world-renowned expert in pelvic pain medicine.
He has worked closely with endometriosis specialists for over 20 years, giving him a unique understanding of the issues that those with endometriosis live with.
Renata Marucha is a clinical nurse specialist whose role is core to patient support.
She offers her care and expertise to patients with severe endometriosis and is there as a point of contact throughout treatment, during what can often be a confusing and worrying time.
Renata says: “I ensure each woman receives individualised care and provide reassurance to patients and families, encouraging them to feel empowered.”

Our new Gynaecology Ultrasound Centre
The Gynaecology Ultrasound Centre is our new fully integrated, high quality, one-stop clinical and diagnostic service for women with concerns about their gynaecological health.
Ultrasound examination provides critical information about the causes of many gynaecological problems, and can be helpful to make an endometriosis diagnosis.

‘Endometriosis Explained’ is a series of concise talks by UK-leading gynaecologists on the complex condition of endometriosis, covering how it is diagnosed, how it affects fertility, and the treatment options available.
Guest speaker and endometriosis sufferer Carla Cressy will share her patient experience story. We will also be joined by Joel Naftalin, who plays a key role in diagnosing endometriosis and Michael Dooley, who will speak on the effect of endometriosis on fertility.
We’ll then have a lengthy Q&A session with our panel, giving you the chance to ask them questions.
