Mario Fedele is the Orthoptist and Senior Ophthalmic Technician at King Edward VII’s Hospital.
He studied Orthoptics at Parma University (Italy) and obtained a Master’s degree in Ophthalmology Assistance Surgery at Policlinico Umberto I in Rome.
Before joining King Edward VII’s Hospital, Mario worked at Moorfields Eye Hospital where he covered multiple eye clinics. He assessed patients of all ages and with a wide range of complex needs, including those with neurological, adnexal and maxillofacial conditions, conditions such as strabismus and glaucoma. He has experience in paediatrics and administering toxin injections. He has also contributed to train optometry and orthoptic students.
Mario performs appropriate assessment for all patients, helping to identify specific ophthalmic problems and provides referral to a specialist, when required.
