Depending on your suspected condition, your specialist may require you to have a scan (or scans) to help provide an accurate diagnosis and to recommend the most appropriate treatment plan. You can have your scan at King Edward VII’s Hospital.
It is common to feel anxious before having a scan, but our highly-experienced team of radiographers will be there throughout your appointment to make sure you feel safe and supported at all times.
You will need to have a signed request form from either your GP or consultant which they can send in advance (our preferred option), or you can bring the request form with you on the day.

We don’t like to keep our patients waiting. Our turnaround times for reporting are excellent, with more than 80% of reports delivered within 24 hours of the examination. Your results will be sent to your specialist and discussed in your follow-up consultation.
In most cases, the costs of diagnostic scans are not included in hospital fixed-price packages and therefore you are responsible for arranging payment.
If you’re funding your treatment through private medical insurance the bill will be sent to your insurer. However, if you’re paying for your own treatment, you’ll be required to pay your bill on the day of your appointment.
If you are having a scan as part of your inpatient treatment at the hospital, the costs of the scan(s) will be included in your hospital bill.
