Dr Ruth Whitby qualified in 1989 with a medical degree from Kings' College Hospital, London and a First-class honours degree in neuroanatomy. She also holds a Diploma from the Royal College Of Obstetrics and Gynaecology . Ruth has been working as a General Practitioner for over 25 years, both in the NHS and privately. {{ label }}
She has a special interest in general medicine, stress management, health screening, and paediatrics. Ruth has often worked as a corporate doctor where tailored health screening is in high demand.
Ruth has also worked overseas in East Asia and Europe, where she gained deep experience in dealing with diverse cultural and ex-patriate communities. In the 1990s, she lived in Japan where she gained a Japanese medical licence, the first female doctor from the UK to do so.
Ruth has built up an extensive independent private practice, with patients from across the UK and a large international patient profile. Ruth has held senior Leadership positions in the private healthcare sector. She was recently awarded a ‘Top Rated’ ranking by Doctify – the UK’S leading private
healthcare search engine.
As the Institute chair for General Practice, she will be responsible for primary care, paediatrics, psychiatry and executive health screening
