Dr Groves is currently Head of Clinical Immunodermatology at the St. John’s Institute of Dermatology, Guy’s & St. Thomas’ Hospitals in London.
He trained at Guys Hospital Medical School and then in general medicine and dermatology in London. Following a 3-year period of research in Boston Dr Groves returned to London as Senior Lecturer in Dermatology at University College. Subsequently he was appointed Professor of Dermatology at Imperial College and then moved to St. John’s in 2005.
He is interested in complex medical dermatology and autoimmune skin disease, particularly immunobullous disorders. For the past seven years he has been Chair of the examining board for the Dermatology Specialty Certificate Examination. He is currently Honorary Treasurer of the British Association of Dermatologists and recent past President of the St. John’s Dermatology Society.
