Professional Biography

Dr Bourke has over 30 years' experience as an NHS London Teaching Hospital Consultant and Honorary Senior Lecturer being involved in clinical practice in both internal medicine and rheumatology together with a substantial commitment to undergraduate and postgraduate teaching. {{ label }}

He has extensive experience in all areas of internal medicine and rheumatology and special experience in auto-immune connective tissue diseases and sarcoidosis. Previous honorary appointments have included: Secretary of the British Society for Rheumatology; President , Rheumatology Section , Royal Society of Medicine; Royal College of Physicians Regional Specialty Advisor both in general internal medicine and rheumatology.

Dr Bourke is currently in full-time private practice, an Honorary Consultant and Senior lecturer at St George’s Hospital and University, and is Chairman of the Specialty Advisory Committee in General Internal medicine of the Joint Royal Colleges of Physicians Training Board.
