Role Overview:

We are seeking a proactive and empathetic Inpatient Advisor to be part of our patient services team within the Contact Centre. You will play a key role in supporting patients during their hospital stay, particularly those with extended stays or additional treatment needs. Your role will involve working with clinical, administrative, and financial teams to ensure smooth coordination of patient care and cost arrangements.

You’re a strong communicator, capable of building positive relationships with patients, families, and medical teams alike. Above all, you are committed to providing the highest standard of care and ensuring that every patient feels supported throughout their journey.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct regular patient reviews to identify patients needing additional support, ensuring all care and financial requirements are met promptly.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop comprehensive patient care plans, ensuring seamless administrative and financial processes.
  • Attend daily meetings and perform ward rounds to stay informed of patient needs and ensure proactive solutions, maintaining a high standard of care.
  • Serve as the first point of contact for patients and next of kin to provide clear communication about care plans and financial arrangements, ensuring patient satisfaction.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with consultants, clinical staff, and hospital teams to facilitate effective coordination and timely resolution of issues.
  • Assist with daily tasks in the Contact Centre to ensure smooth departmental operations and exceptional patient support.
  • Contribute to ad-hoc projects to support the hospital’s commercial and operational goals, ensuring flexibility and responsiveness to emerging needs.

 

Essential Role Requirements:

  • Previous experience in healthcare or a patient-facing role to bring a solid understanding of patient care dynamics.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with patients, NOK, and hospital teams.
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail to manage multiple patient cases and ensure all arrangements are in place.
  • Problem-solving abilities to address patient needs and queries efficiently.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team to ensure smooth operations and coordinated care.
  • Proficiency with healthcare management software and IT systems for managing patient records and coordinating across departments.
