Inpatients Senior Physiotherapist – Weekends (Saturdays and Sundays)

What we are looking for:

Job Title: Senior Physiotherapist – Band 6

Department: Inpatients/Therapy

Speciality: MSK, Orthopaedics, Hydrotherapy, Respiratory, Gynaecology, Colorectal, and General Surgical Care.

Hours: 15 hours per week – Saturdays and Sundays

Shift times: 09:00AM – 16:30PM

Position Type: Permanent

As a Band 6 Senior Physiotherapist based in our inpatient wards, you’ll be central to delivering exceptional care to patients undergoing orthopaedic rehabilitation. Your role will involve working closely with patients in the acute phase of their recovery, ensuring they receive tailored and effective treatment to support their rehabilitation journey. The ideal candidate will have substantial experience in orthopaedic rehabilitation and hydrotherapy, with a strong track record in managing post-surgery care across various specialties including gynaecology, colorectal, urology, breast, care of the elderly, critical care, respiratory, and general medicine. Your expertise will be crucial in optimising patient outcomes and enhancing their overall hospital experience.

This weekend-only contract offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact while providing flexibility for work-life balance. The role requires availability every Saturday and Sunday from 9am to 4.30 pm, totalling 15 hours per week.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate closely with the surgeons and interdisciplinary team to ensure holistic patient care is delivered in line with hospital and surgical protocols.
  • Conduct thorough assessments and develop individualised treatment plans for patients with musculoskeletal (MSK) conditions, orthopaedic rehabilitation needs, hydrotherapy, respiratory, gynaecology, colorectal, and general surgical care.
  • Provide evidence-based physiotherapy interventions to optimise patient recovery and functional outcomes.
  • Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary team members to ensure coordinated and holistic patient care.
  • Lead hydrotherapy sessions and implement specialised physiotherapy programmes tailored to inpatient needs.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and contribute to the advancement of physiotherapy practice through professional development activities.

 

Essential Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Physiotherapy.
  • HCPC registration and CSP membership.
  • Minimum of 2 years of post-qualification experience in the UK, as a physiotherapist with significant experience in MSK, orthopaedic rehabilitation, hydrotherapy, respiratory, gynaecology, colorectal, and general surgical care
  • Strong clinical skills in musculoskeletal assessment and treatment.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and teamwork abilities.
