Job Title: Senior Radiographer

Hours: Monday – Friday 37.5 hours a week, with on-call participation

Salary: £49. 608.00 per annum

Contract: Permanent

 

Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Radiographer to join our General Radiography department at King Edward VII Hospital. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in providing comprehensive radiography services, including CT, MRI, Theatre, Fluoroscopy, General X-ray, and DEXA. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a state-of-the-art healthcare facility, serving a diverse patient population, with the added advantage of cross-training in either MRI or CT if you possess expertise in one of these modalities.

 

About Us:

We are a 56-bedded acute hospital specialising in Colorectal, Urology, Orthopaedics, Men’s Health, and Women’s Health which is provided by a friendly, professional, and supportive team that is focused on being a centre of excellence for a wide variety of surgical procedures and treatments. You will be part of a team that cares for a wide range of surgical patients.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform a wide range of radiographic examinations including MRI, CT, Theatre, Fluoroscopy, DEXA, and General Radiography with a focus on maintaining optimal image quality and patient safety
  • Ensuring that all patient examinations are carried out efficiently and effectively
  • Develop and implement care plans for patients, liaising with relevant stakeholders as required
  • Provide expert clinical advice and support to patients and their families throughout the imaging process
  • Ensure that all relevant clinical documentation is completed accurately and promptly
  • Work collaboratively with other members of the healthcare team to provide a seamless and integrated service to our patients
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of new imaging protocols and techniques

 

Cross-Training Opportunity:

Qualified candidates who are already skilled in either CT or MRI will have the opportunity to receive training in the other modality, expanding their expertise and career options.

 

Requirements:

  • HCPC registration
  • Minimum of 3 years of UK work experience as a Radiographer, with a focus on MRI/CT, Theatre, Fluoroscopy, General X-ray & DEXA
  • Proven expertise in operating MRI and/or CT equipment, with a deep understanding of imaging principles and techniques
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients, colleagues, and other healthcare professionals
  • Experience working in a multi-disciplinary team environment
  • Excellent clinical skills and a proven track record of delivering high-quality patient care
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with patients and colleagues alike
  • A commitment to ongoing professional development and a desire to keep up to date with the latest developments in radiology and imaging
  • Willingness to participate in on-call duties and work flexible hours as needed.

 

Desirable:

  • Experience with Siemens imaging equipment
  • Experience with clinical audit
  • Experience with QA programmes
  • IV Cannulation Certificate
