As a hospital with charitable status, King Edward VII’s Hospital is reliant on the generosity of our supporters. Donations allow us to continue to develop the Hospital, and to provide means-tested grants to Service and ex-Service personnel.
There are a number of ways in which you can be involved in supporting the Hospital. Our Friends scheme is ideal for anyone who wishes to make a one off or regular contributions. For major capital expenditure we are reliant on income from legacies, and many people choose to remember King Edward VII’s in their will. Finally, we have just launched our Major Appeal to redevelop and expand the Hospital, and we are welcoming endowments or major gifts to help us achieve all our aims.
You can find out more about these options by clicking the links at the bottom of this page.

120th Anniversary Appeal
We have embarked on a major three-year project to redevelop our main hospital building on Beaumont Street and to fit out our new outpatient building also located on Beaumont Street. This will cost £30 million of which we have raised over £17 million.
We hope that you will join us in supporting our initiative by making a donation to transform the future of King Edward VII’s Hospital.
Our programme of work includes the extension of the fourth and fifth floors of our main building and will also include the following:
- An entirely refurbished Main Reception – enabling a more streamlined and comfortable patient and visitor experience.
A state-of-the-art day surgery unit with recovery suites – both increasing our surgical capacity and improving our ability to meet the growing demand for day surgery procedures previously performed in our main theatres.
Significant improvements to our existing operating theatres – including the enlarging and upgrading of Theatre One, with the installation of laminar airflow technology – together with new recovery facilities.
- The replacement of four lifts.

"From the moment I walked through the doors with my daughter, I was treated with courtesy and consideration, and made to feel comfortable and at ease. All the staff, both administrative and clinical, were professional, friendly and efficient; nothing was too much trouble."
