Occupational Therapy focuses on helping individuals with physical and/or psychological illness to achieve the highest possible level of function and wellbeing in their daily lives. Related conditions and illnesses include cognitive impairment, dementia, psychological difficulties, othopedic operations, vascular surgery and rheumatoid arthritis.
Assessment in hospital and the home environment aims to identify problems and facilitate ways to adapt and adjust individual needs to promote independence. Treatment methods include motor learning and performance, client and family education and energy conservation techniques.
Referrals & Appointments
Referrals are accepted from GPs, consultants and by self-referral. An appointment can usually be given within 48 hours of receiving the referral. Inpatient hours are 09:00-17:00 daily. Outpatient appointments can be made from 08:30-16:30.
Payment Process
Inpatient Therapy charges will be included in the main Hospital Account. Outpatients undergoing a course of treatment will receive invoices at regular intervals. All other Outpatient treatments must be settled on the day of attendance.
