King Edward VII's Hospital Sister Agnes has been committed to the Armed Forces for over 100 years - the Hospital's very origins were the result of Agnes Keyser's compassion for the wounded soldiers returning from the Boer War. Initially operating from the Keyser's private residence, the Hospital re-located several times, before reaching its current home on Beaumont Street. With each move, its resources have grown and simultaneously, its ability to treat and care for more Service patients.
Today the Hospital, a registered charity since 1930, is open and accessible to Service personnel and civilians from all walks of life. However, the charitable tradition continues in the spirit of the Hospital's founder, Agnes Keyser and the Hospital is now the only remaining Service orientated acute hospital in the country. Our commitment to the Armed Forces remains strong and we work hard to provide support for as many serving and ex-Service personnel as possible.
Our Council of Trustees includes a number of eminent military professionals demonstrating this ongoing commitment to the Armed Forces.
