Dr Sarah Burnett, MBA MRCP FRCP, Consultant Radiologist

Dr Sarah Burnett is a Consultant Radiologist at King Edward VII's Hospital Sister Agnes. She previously worked at St Mary's Hospital between 1993-2001 before joining UCL Hospitals as Consultant Musculoskeletal Radiologist from 2001-2003. Dr Burnett regularly features on Radio 4, GLR, BBC ONE and BBC TWO. She is also a Doctor in Residence on a BBC London late show and a radiology advisor for NetDoctor.co.uk, Questico.co.uk and SurgeryDoor.com.

Mr Rajiv Grover, BSc MBBS MD FRCS (Plast), Consultant Plastic Surgeon

Mr Rajiv Grover works as a Consultant Plastic Surgeon at King Edward VII's Hospital Sister Agnes and The North West London Regional Centre at Mount Vernon Hospital. He is also an Honorary Senior Lecturer at University College London and has published widely in international literature. In 2004 he was invited to sit on the council of The British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons (BAAPS) and is responsible for the UK audit of cosmetic surgery and safety for the Royal College of Surgeons. During his career, Mr Grover has been awarded several national awards including the European Association of Plastic Surgeons (EURAPS Medal, 1996 and 1999) and the American Association of Plastic Surgeons (AAPS Gold Medal, 2000). For his work in the field of Aesthetic Surgery he has twice been awarded the Hackett Memorial Prize (1999, 2000) by the British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons (BAAPS).

Mr Barry M. Jones, MS FRCS, Consultant Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon

Mr Barry Jones qualified in Medicine from the University of London in 1974. He trained in general surgery in London and then in plastic, reconstructive, craniofacial and aesthetic surgery in London, Paris and the United States. He is currently Emeritus Director of Craniofacial Surgery at the Hospital for Sick Children NHS Trust, Great Ormond Street and a Hunterian Professor at The Royal College of Surgeons of England and in private Plastic and Aesthetic surgical practice. Mr Jones has recently been visiting Professor in South Africa, Philadelphia and Barcelona. He has published over 120 peer reviewed papers in professional journals and in October 2006 published a book entitled "Facial Rejuvenation Surgery" (Mosby, Elsevier).

Dr Charles Mackworth-Young, MA MD FRCP, Consultant Physician

Dr. Charles Mackworth-Young is a Consultant Physician at King Edward VII's Hospital Sister Agnes (1992 - present), at Charing Cross and Chelsea and Westminster Hospitals.  He is also an Honorary Senior Lecturer at Imperial College School of Medicine. Dr. Mackworth-Young's clinical practice includes all aspects of general rheumatology as well as acute general internal medicine. His specialist and research interests include multi-system connective tissue disorders (notably the antiphospholipid syndrome), and novel therapies for osteoarthritis. He was awarded the British Society of Rheumatology Michael Mason Prize for Rheumatology Research in 1994. Dr. Mackworth-Young is also the Medical Director and Chairman of the Medical Committee at King Edward VII's Hospital Sister Agnes.

Dr Christian Hasford, MRCP, Consultant Physician

Dr Christian Hasford is a Consultant Physician at King Edward VII's Hospital Sister Agnes. In the public sector, he practices Acute and Chest Medicine at University College London and Complementary Medicine at Royal London Homoeopathic Hospital (part of UCLH). This dual appointment is unique within the NHS and reflects his long and committed interest in both fields of medical practice.

He also has a great interest in Allergy Medicine and is in the process of establishing the first NHS allergy service combining an orthodox and complementary approach.

Dr Hasford is an honorary senior lecturer at University College London and the undergraduate lead in Medical Education (at UCLH), reflecting his deep commitment to medical education and advancement. He is a member of the Royal College of Physicians, The Society of Acute Medicine, the British Thoracic Society, The British Society of Allergy and Clinical Immunology, the British Medical Acupuncture Society and the Faculty of Homeopathy.

Dr Norman Johnson, MBBS FRCP, Consultant Respiratory Physician

Dr Norman Johnson is a Consultant Respiratory Physician at King Edward VII's Hospital Sister Agnes, a General Physician at the Whittington Hospital London and an Honorary Senior Lecturer in Medicine at the Royal Free and University College Medical School. He was previously Clinical Director of Medicine and Director of Research and Development for the Whittington Hospital NHS Trust, while there he was the undergraduate and postgraduate Sub Dean of the Medical School. Dr Johnson is also an examiner for the General Medical Council, a Council Member of the British Thoracic Society, a Member of the Standards of Care Committee and a part time adviser to the National Clinical Assessment Authority. A regular commentator in the Guardian newspaper, Dr Johnson has a special interest in Tuberculosis (TB) and Sarcoidosis.

Dr John Moore-Gillon, MA MD FRCP, Consultant Physician

Dr John Moore-Gillon is a Consultant Physician at King Edward VII's Hospital Sister Agnes. He is also a Consultant Physician in the Department of Respiratory Medicine at St Bartholomew's and the Royal London Hospitals.

Dr Moore-Gillon is lead clinician for tuberculosis in the London Borough of Tower Hamlets, Chair of the British Thoracic Society Joint Tuberculosis Committee and Chair of the Department of Health's Tuberculosis Action Plan for England service delivery working group. He is a former President (and now Vice-President) of the British Lung Foundation, a medical charity that funds research and offers information and support for people with lung diseases, including tuberculosis.

Dr Nicholas Padfield, FRCA, Pain Management Consultant

Dr Nicholas Padfield is a Pain Management Consultant at King Edward VII's Hospital Sister Agnes and Consultant in Pain Medicine at Guy's & St Thomas' Foundation Trust. His interests include treatment for neuropathic pain, complex regional pain syndromes and many other pain related problems. He also has an interest in oral facial pain, and has an extensive medicolegal practice around personal injury and medical negligence. Dr Padfield works in a multidisciplinary team and undertakes all of the most up-to-date validated pain interventions including spinal cord stimulation, peripheral nerve stimulation, radiofrequency facet joint denervations and pulsed radiofrequency treatments. He has published three books including the Pain Medicine Manual, which received the highly commended BMA Prize. As well as lecturing nationally and internationally, Dr Padfield runs practical courses at Guy's and St Thomas' Foundation Trust. He has also appeared on 'City Hospital' on BBC One, demonstrating various pain relieving techniques.

Dr Baranowski, BSc Hons, MBBS, FRCA, MD, FRPM RCA, Pain Management Consultant

Dr Baranowski is a consultant qualified in Pain Medicine whose clinical skills are underpinned by an active involvement in both research and education. He works with a number of groups that are responsible for drawing up international guidelines for the management of chronic pain. With particular expertise in the management of chronic pain by physical interventions, Dr Baranowski uses a range of complex techniques such as neuro tracing, computerised tomography, epiduroscopy and neuromodulation. As well as working in the private sector, he has a significant involvement in the NHS at the National Hospital for Neurology & Neurosurgery at University College London Hospital. His specialist areas of interest are complex spinal pain, neuropathic pain and urogenital pain.

Mr David Badenoch MA DM MCh FEBU FRCS (Urol), Consultant Urologist

Mr David Badenoch is Consultant Urologist at King Edward VII's Hospital Sister Agnes (2000 - present). He was awarded the British Association of Urological Surgeons (BAUS) Surgitek Prize in 1987 and the European Association of Urology (EAU) 1988 Prix de L'Association. Mr Badenoch was previously an Honorary Consultant Urological Surgeon to The Royal London Hospital and St. Bartholomew's Hospital (2000 - 2006) and an Honorary Senior Lecturer at the Joint Medical College of St. Bartholomew's and The London Hospital (2000 - 2006).

Mr Julian Shah, FRCS, Consultant Urologist

Specialising in neuro-urology, incontinence, and bladder dysfunction, Mr Julian Shah is a Consultant Urologist at King Edward VII's Hospital Sister Agnes. In addition to this role he also holds appointments at a number of other hospitals: Honorary Consultant to the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery (2001 - present), Director of Urology to the Spinal Injuires Unit at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital (1985 - present), Senior Lecturer in Urology at the Institute of Urology, University College London (1984  - present) and Honorary Consultant to St Peter's Hospital now Consultant Lead in Female and Neurourology at UCLHFT (1984 - present). Amongst his achievements, Mr Shah has been awarded the Edward Ward Prize in Surgical Anatomy (July, 1972) and was nominated for "Who's Who in the World" (2001-9). He is a member of the council of the British Association of Urological Surgeons. He is also a regular contributor to Zest magazine and has contributed to a number of educational programmes for the media.

Mr Clive Spence-Jones, MBBS FRCS FRCOG, Consultant Gynaecologist

Mr Spence-Jones is a Consultant Gynaecologist at King Edward VII's Hospital Sister Agnes. He specialises in the surgical treatment of patients suffering from prolapse, weakening of the muscle walls surrounding the womb, which usually occurs after childbirth. Mr Spence-Jones is an authority on problems relating to the female pelvic floor and is also known for treating patients with incontinence. He undertook undergraduate training at St Mary's Hospital Medical School and Postgraduate training at St Mark's Hospital where he carried out research into the aetiology of pelvic floor prolapse.

Mr Alfred Cutner, MD MRCOG, Consultant Gynaecologist

A Consultant Gynaecologist at King Edward VII's Hospital Sister Agnes and University College London Hospitals, Mr Alfred Cutner specialises in urogynaecology and minimal access surgery. Mr Cutner performs laparoscopic surgery for recurrent prolapse and urogynaecological problems including incontinence. Additionally, Mr Cutner leads a joint endometriosis service again offering laparoscopic treatment for patients suffering with this condition.

Mr Michael M Dooley, MBBS (Lond.) MMs FFFP FRCOG, Consultant Gynaecologist

Mr Michael Dooley is a Consultant Gynaecologist at King Edward VII's Hospital Sister Agnes. He also consults at The Lister Hospital and 132 Harley Street and is Director of The Poundbury Clinic, an integrated healthcare clinic for women.

Mr Dooley takes an integrated approach to womens' healthcare and specialises in infertility, premenstrual syndrome, period problems, menopause and osteoporosis, endometriosis, pelvic pain, polycystic ovarian syndrome and gynaecological problems associated with sportswomen. His holistic approach to fertility treatment has generated strong interest amongst the media.

He is also a Consultant Gynaecologist at the Olympic Medical Institute in London and has an international reputation as a Sports Gynaecologist. Mr Dooley served eight years as Director of Sports Science and Medicine for the British Equestrian Federation and travelled as a UK Team Doctor to the 1996 Atlanta Olympics and the Sydney Olympics in 2000. Mr David Glynn, BDS MFGDP LDS RCS, Consultant Dental Surgeon

Specialising in implants and aesthetic dentistry, Mr David Glynn is a Consultant Dental Surgeon at King Edward VII's Hospital Sister Agnes. Mr Glynn is a member of a number of societies and associations including: the British Dental Association, British Society for Restorative Dentistry, Federation Dentaire International and the American Dental Association (Affiliate Member). In addition, Mr Glynn was International Councilman of the International College of Dentists (1984 - 2000) and was previously International President of the International College of Dentists (1999), President American Dental Society of London (1992 - 1993) and Europe President of the International College of Dentists (1995). He has produced papers, publications and videos on a range of subjects such as Dentistry under General Anaesthesia (1974), Functional Wax Up (for the Clinician American Dental Society of London, 1968) and Anterior Jacket Crown (American Dental Society of London, 1967). A BUPA registered specialist since 1985, Mr Glynn has also been a Senior Demonstrator for the Department of Conservative Dentistry at Guy's Hospital (1976 -1979).

Mr David Spalton, FRCS FRCP FRCOphth, Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon

A Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon at St Thomas' Hospital, King Edward VII's Hospital Sister Agnes and The Royal Hospital Chelsea, Mr David Spalton is an expert in cataract surgery and intraocular lens related problems. Mr Spalton holds Fellowships at the Royal College of Surgeons, Royal College of Physicians and Royal College of Ophthalmologists.  He is President of the United Kingdom and Ireland Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons and a member of the governing board of the European Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, where he serves on the Programme and Scientific Research Committees. Mr Spalton has also published over 150 scientific papers and a book "An Atlas of Clinical Ophthalmology", which won the prize for the Best Medical Textbook of the Year in 2005, now translated into 10 languages. Professor Christopher Bunker, MA MD FRCP, Consultant Dermatologist

Professor C B Bunker is a Consultant Dermatologist at King Edward VII's Hospital Sister Agnes. In addition to this private sector post, he is a Consultant Dermatologist at  Chelsea & Westminster and Royal Marsden Hospitals, Professor, Faculty and  Division of Medicine at Imperial College School of Medicine and an Honorary  Consultant in Dermatology, Royal Hospital Chelsea. Professor Bunker has achieved a number of major awards and honours throughout his career including - Sir Walter Langdon Brown prize, University of Cambridge, 1992 and Bristol Cup, British Association of Dermatologists in 1998.

Professor Justin P Cobb BMBCh FRCS MCh, Orthopaedic Consultantt

Professor Justin Cobb is an Orthopaedic Surgeon at King Edward VII's Hospital Sister Agnes. Since arriving at the Hospital in 1996, he has been a loyal attender in the joint replacement field.

He specialises in partial-joint replacement and early operation on osteoarthritic hips and knees. Sister Agnes is one of the few hospitals in the country offering computer-assisted work in this area which results in higher levels of accuracy. Studying medicine at Magdalen College, Oxford, Professor Cobb graduated in 1982 before going on to train at establishments such as the John Radcliffe, the Middlesex Hospital and the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital.

In 1991 he was appointed as a consultant orthopaedic surgeon at The Middlesex Hospital and wrote his Masters thesis on 'Surgery and Osteosarcoma' for which he was awarded a Hunterian Professorship in 1992. After 15 years at University College London Hospital, he joined Imperial College as Chair of Orthopaedics in 2005. Professor Cobb is the civilian advisor in orthopaedics to the Royal Air Force and is on the board of Stanmore Implants Worldwide (University College London), and Acrobot (Imperial College Hospital).

His primary research interests are in accurate surgery: modelling joint surfaces in health and disease, planning and prediction of how to reconstruct a damaged joint, design of less invasive and better functioning devices, post-operative analysis of a prosthesis implantation and functional assessment of the patient following intervention.

Mr Robert Hensher, Consultant Oral and Maxillo-Facial Surgeon, FRCS FDSRCS

Mr Robert Hensher is a Consultant Oral and Maxillo-Facial Surgeon at King Edward VII's Hospital Sister Agnes.

A Graduate of Liverpool University (BDS 1972; MB ChB 1978), Mr Robert Hensher worked in the USA as a resident on the prestigious max facial programme at Louisiana State University. He also trained at the Charity Hospital, New Orleans, in Germany and the far East.

His practice includes minor oral surgery, but his main interests are dental implantology with complex bone-grafting techniques. Cosmetic facial osteotomies are also included.

Mainly noted for TMJ (jaw joint) replacement, Mr Hensher has pioneered this procedure in UK. He utilises the latest state of the art bespoke American prosthetic joint, exclusively at King Edward VII's Hospital Sister Agnes.

Mr Clive Bath, BSc DipHSM MHSM, Chief Executive

Mr Clive Bath gained a Biology Sciences degree in 1970 and later achieved a Diploma from the Institute of Health Services Management (1974). Between 1973 and 1985 Clive was an administrator for a number of hospitals - Basingstoke, Portsmouth, Wythenshawe and Charing Cross - before taking on the role of Director of Planning at the Riverside Health Authority (1985). A number of high profile positions followed. Clive became General Manager at St Mary's Hospital (1985 - 1988), Director of UK Consultancy with International Hospitals Group (1988 - 1990) and Non Executive Director / Vice Chairman at Wandsworth Community Health Services NHS Trust (1993 - 1996). More recently, he has been the Deputy Chief Executive for Nuffield Hospitals (1991 - 2003) where he was responsible for the profitable operation of 44 hospitals, development of new business, mergers and acquisition and relations with Private Medical Insurance companies.

Clive later became a self-employed management consultant (2003 - 2004) working independently and in association with healthcare consultancies such as Associate Director, London International Healthcare, Morgan Henton, Executive Search and Assignments. He became Chief Executive of King VII's Hospital Sister Agnes in December 2004.

Miss Caroline Cassels, MVO RGN DMS, Matron

Miss Caroline Cassels first came to the Hospital over 20 years ago initially as a Staff Nurse and then Ward Sister before taking on the challenging role of Matron, which she has held since 1994. Driven by her commitment to maintaining high standards of quality care and professionalism, Matron remains involved in all aspects of patients' stay at the hospital. This 'hands on, warm and caring approach,' not only for the patients but also those who work for her, ensures she remains personally involved in the life of King Edward VII's Hospital Sister Agnes. Her devotion and hard work was recognised in 2004 when she received the MVO in the Queen's Birthday Honours list.
