MICHAEL UREN ADDS, “KING EDWARD VII’S HOSPITAL IS VERY DEAR TO MY HEART AND I WANTED TO DO ALL I COULD TO ENSURE IT HAS A SUCCESSFUL, LONG TERM FUTURE”
King Edward VII’s Hospital Sister Agnes has announced that it has accepted a gift from the Michael Uren Foundation worth up to £30 million.
The Michael Uren Foundation has already deposited £5 million with the Hospital and committed to providing such help and support as needed up to a maximum of £30 million over the next ten years.
Robin Broadhurst, the Chairman of Governors, says, “This is the most generous gift the Hospital has ever received. We are all extremely grateful to the Michael Uren Foundation for securing the long term and independent future of the Hospital”.
King Edward VII’s Hospital intends to use the gift for expansion. The Hospital will grow by over 25% meaning the Hospital will build additional facilities including operating theatres, extra wards and consulting rooms
John Lofthouse, the chief executive, adds, “This gift will enable us to reinforce our position as one of the world’s most outstanding Hospitals”.
Michael Uren OBE, the chairman of the Michael Uren Foundation, says, “King Edward VII’s Hospital is very dear to my heart and I wanted to do all I could to ensure it has a long, successful, and independent future. I hope this gift will secure that outcome”.
