Delivering quality healthcare since 1899, and boasting HM The Queen as its Patron, King Edward VII's Hospital delivers the highest standards of private medical care. The agreement with Asteral allows the Hospital to maintain these standards delivering high levels of uptime for all 14 items of its imaging and related radiology equipment, including MR, CT, X-Ray, Fluoroscopy, Ultrasound and Mobiles.
As part of the MMS, Asteral provides one point of contact for all maintenance issues via the Asteral Response Desk (ARD). Each call made by the Hospital is logged by the ARD, which then progresses and resolves maintenance requests directly with the relevant manufacturer as swiftly as possible, allowing clinical staff to focus on their roles.
Asteral’s position as one of the largest purchasers of Radiology Imaging maintenance in the UK allows them to buy and deliver maintenance from Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM) differently. It delivers cost savings on the Hospital’s previous OEM annual renewal quotes for the provision of like-for-like equipment maintenance services, without any negative impact on quality.
Iain Luscombe, Imaging Services Manager at King Edward VII's Hospital, said: “Asteral’s ability to match our existing level of cover while offering substantial cost savings made the decision to transfer our maintenance contracts very simple.”
Helen Burnip, Cross Sectional Superintendent at the Hospital, said: “Due to having numerous clinical modalities it’s extremely useful to have only one number for the Asteral Response Desk to deal with every maintenance issue”.
Adrian Waller, Radiology Service Development Manager at Asteral, said: “We are very pleased to be supplying King Edward VII's Hospital with MMS, a service which is seeing increasing demand thanks to radiology managers discussing the benefits with their peers. We are in a strong position to not only deliver value and cost savings on existing maintenance contracts but also increase uptime and service delivery. We effectively act on behalf of King Edward VII's Hospital to maximise savings and performance from suppliers, allowing them to focus on delivering world-class patient care”.
