Recently, there have been numerous developments at the Hospital and in the wider healthcare community, which have made it necessary for us to embark upon a long term refurbishment programme of our patient facilities. We have already completed two of our three wards, and have plans for refurbishing the final ward in the near future.
All of our upgraded rooms are being built to the latest designs to maximise patient comfort and adapt to the needs of the less mobile. Each room will be fitted with an advanced nurse call system to provide maximum reassurance for the patient as well as non-slip floors to increase patient safety. The bathrooms are being completely replaced and installed with walk-in showers and fold down seats for ease of use and all surfaces adhere to strict infection control guidelines to minimise the risk of cross contamination for both patients and staff. Our Matron a member of staff in the Hospital for nearly 25 years, Miss Caroline Cassels, commented that 'We have been delighted with the huge success of our Patient Room Upgrade Programme...which has indeed been greatly admired by other hospitals.'
In order to endow a room, we are appealing for donations of £30,000, to endow a bed - £10,000 and to contribute to the Ward - £5,000.
All endowments last 10 years and we would of course acknowledge a donation through a commemorative plaque.
