From 1978 to 2006 Mr Lynn was the Endocrine Surgeon at the Hammersmith Hospital, London with duties also at Ealing Hospital. He took over from the distinguished Endocrine Surgeon, Mr Selwyn Taylor and later from Professor Welbourn.
His practice for 29 years involved developing the techniques of minimally invasive endocrine surgery for the thyroid, parathyroid and adrenal.
The last few years of his practice at the Hammersmith Hospital, between the years 2000 and 2006 he was doing yearly in excess of 400 major endocrine cases a year. He retired in July 2006 from the Hammersmith Hospital and has devoted himself purely to private practice. At the present time ‘in retirement’ he performs 125 major endocrine cases a year and does over two thousand outpatient consultations a year. He has trained over 25 consultant surgeons who have either a full time or part time interest in endocrine surgery.
He is the medical director of the Phoenix Medical Group and also chairman of the Medical Advisory Committee.
