Dr Jennifer Gomborone graduated from Nazareth College of Rochester, New York, in 1988 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology. She moved to London in September 1988 where she undertook a Master’s Degree in Cognitive Neuropsychology at the University of London. She went on to complete her PhD in the psycho-physiological aspects of the Irritable Bowel Syndrome at St. Bartholomew’s Medical School and the University of London.
Jennifer has been in clinical practice for over 20 years and works within a multi-disciplinary team, consisting of consultants in psychiatry, gastroenterology, neurology, general medicine and experts in a number of psychological disciplines. As part of her clinical career she was the head of psychological services within the Department of Medical Psychiatry at the Princess Grace Hospital and the Wellington Hospital working alongside Professor Libby and Professor Silk for the last 20 years.
She has extensive training in cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), time line therapy and cognitive analytic therapy (CAT), clinical and medical hypnosis, eye movement desensitisation reprocessing (EMDR), psychotherapy and counselling, group analysis, neurolinguistic programming (NLP) and has just qualified as a yoga teacher.
